Choose a visual direction before browsing hundreds of coral options: a calm green-and-purple tank, a warm gold-and-orange focal reef, or a varied mixed reef with a few repeating colors. A clear direction makes later choices easier to evaluate.
Place fewer corals in the first preview
Start by adding three to five corals to your tank photo. Use one as a focal point, one or two as supporting forms, and leave some rockwork open. A sparse first preview is easier to adjust than a crowded one.
Use the preview to ask better questions
Before purchase, a visual plan helps you ask practical questions: Is there room for this form? Does the color compete with the main focal coral? Would a smaller or lower placement create more balance? It does not answer care requirements, but it makes the design decision concrete.
